Artefacts Handling Workshop

Delivered by the National Army Museum, the session introduces Trench Brothers through the uniforms and equipment used by forces in the First World War, with an emphasis where possible on soldiers from the Indian Army and British West Indies Regiment. The hour and a half session for each class starts with a presentation of historical photos and images and concludes with students examining and trying on memorabilia, uniforms and weapons both real and replica, which they have seen in the photos.

“The artefacts session was excellent – it taught the importance of artefacts to the children, with them even having to wear gloves. They felt the real equipment and got a sense of what it was like to have these things.”
