I Can Sing!
HMDT announces an amazing new Musical Theatre School at BSix College.

The Toy Box is a new commission by Russell Hepplewhite and Helen Eastman for The Hoxton Singers and Year 3 children at St Monica’s primary school. The intergenerational work tells compares toys in today’s world with those played with 70 years ago. The project involved both groups visiting The Museum of Childhood and working with the artists to devise poems and music for the new piece. It will be performed on 11 February at St Monica’s Priory directed by Freya Wynn-Jones and conducted by the composer. The Toy Box is funded by City Bridge Trust and is part of a programme of activities for the over 60s.

Gotta Dance is HMDT’s new Ballroom Dancing class for the over 60s. Whether you’re an expert at the cha cha or have never tried before, come and join the fabulous Malcolm for some fun learning the tango, foxtrot or waltz. The Shadowball Education pack Featuring the fantastic photography of Clive Barda and a DVD of the show, it includes an overview of the whole project, an illustrated libretto and teaching resources designed to introduce the themes and historical context of the opera. A promotional DVD of interviews with the cast and artistic team will be available on line together with teaching materials.

I Can Sing! is a new performing arts course designed to give young children an exciting introduction to vocal ensemble and general musicianship through musical theatre, and is based at BSix, the home of CYM Hackney.
