{"id":2029,"date":"2017-06-26T14:01:52","date_gmt":"2017-06-26T14:01:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.hmdt.org.uk\/hmdtmusic\/?p=2029"},"modified":"2017-06-27T14:02:37","modified_gmt":"2017-06-27T14:02:37","slug":"new-for-autumn-2017-cymh-academy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.hmdt.org.uk\/hmdtmusic\/blog\/2017\/06\/26\/new-for-autumn-2017-cymh-academy\/","title":{"rendered":"*NEW FOR AUTUMN 2017* &#8211; CYMH ACADEMY"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><u>Who is it for?<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Secondary School Students only<\/li>\n<li>Grade 5 plus on instrument \/ voice<\/li>\n<li>Students who are taking, or thinking of taking GCSE, A-Level Music or IB Music at Standard or Higher Level.<\/li>\n<li>Students who want to make music with other like minded students<\/li>\n<li>Students who are interested in exploring music from different genres, cultures and eras.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>What will the Academy offer students?<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The opportunity to take part in masterclasses in composition, leadership, conducting and performance technique with specialist guest tutors across a broad range of genres.<\/li>\n<li>Support for their school studies &#8211; CYMH Academy offers a perfect complement to GCSE, A-Level music classes, IB Music at Standard or Higher Level.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Sessions including: Ensemble, Conducting, Composition, Performance, Analysis and History of Music.<\/li>\n<li>Orchestra &#8211; singers\/pianists are encouraged to hone their ensemble skills by playing in the percussion section of the orchestra!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The option to participate with or without individual instrumental lessons<\/li>\n<li>Proposed guest artists include: Natalie Clein (cellist), Paul Griffiths (Composer and leader), Katie Thomas (conductor and Monteverdi Choir) and Jacquelyn Hynes (Irish Cultural Centre Flautist).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>Is it auditioned?<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>No audition will be required for Autumn 2017 term.
