1, 2, 3, Sing With Me! The 1,2,3 Sing With Me! programme was a partnership project involving HMDT, Shoreditch Trust, Groundwork East London and the Early Years and Play Service in Hackney. Ten local residents were referred to the programme from Shoreditch Trust, the area's New Deal for Communities initiative, and offered a comprehensive training programme aimed at enabling them back into full time employment as nursery play-workers, which included working towards an NVQ in Early Years Care and Education. 1,2,3 Sing With Me! complimented the training package by offering musical training through an exploration of multi-cultural musical forms and traditions to enable the trainees to use music as a tool for play and development when working with children in their own nursery. The programme was specially designed to offer the trainees, and the children participating, a range of participatory music and movement activities with which to create music from different cultural traditions to encourage self-expression and provide a language for emotional and creative development.
Led by tutors Alison Blunt and Sian Davies, training was delivered within the nursery environment at Comet Nursery, the Round Chapel Nursery, St. Paul's with St. Michael's Nursery, Comberton Early Years Centre and Phoenix House Montessori Nursery School.

1, 2, 3 Resource Pack
A resource pack for the project was created for the trainees, teaching staff and parents/carers to include a repertoire of music suitable for nursery aged children offering advice on delivering music sessions, exercises and games, and references to encourage further musical development.
