HMDT Music’s award-winning projects for schools include commissions of new works for students to perform, which usually focus on celebrating those whose voices are rarely heard, supported by arts-embedded cross-curricular resources and workshops. It also offers CPD for teachers to support using the arts to enhance the curriculum, a range of bespoke creative projects and a wealth of resources and activities for commemorating Remembrance Day, Holocaust Memorial Day and Black History Month.

 

STEM Sisters celebrates the achievements, discoveries and stories of diverse historical female mathematicians and scientists through a musical puppet show, workshops and resources.

 

Empowering schools to embed the arts across the curriculum through workshops and a dedicated CPD programme to support teachers’ technical skills and engagement with the arts.

 

Commemorating the First World War through the experiences of ethnic minority soldiers from the Indian Army and British West Indies Regiment.

 

Supporting secondary schools in their own productions with workshops in voice, text and design.

 

A ground-breaking baseball and jazz project celebrating the achievements of black players in the Negro Leagues and their jazz compatriots during segregation.

 

A cultural Olympic dance and boxing project celebrating sportsmanship and achievement through the fights between African American boxer Joe Louis and his German opponent Max Schmeling, in 1938.

 

Developed in partnership with the British Legion to commemorate the anniversary of D-Day including two new songs and lesson plans on codebreaking, subterfuge and spies, inventions and more…

 

An international project responding to children’s Holocaust writings through music and art working with schools in London, Nuremberg and Prague. Includes materials on Teaching the Holocaust through the Arts.

 

An insight into the range of projects we can create for your school from one day song-writing and after school activities to short commemoration projects and full-scale bespoke operas.

 

An opera project featuring four periods of Hackney’s history, in which students become an opera company to perform, stage-manage, design and market the production.
