CYM Hackney & Mobius at The Spitalfields Festival
All of CYM students will be performing with the acclaimed Mobius Ensemble at this year’s Spitalfields Summer Festival. The programme includes premieres of new pieces for Children’s Voices by Benjamin Oliver and Christopher Ash commissioned as part of HMDT’s PRSF Young Composers Scheme.

Mobius is an international ensemble of dynamic musicians with distinguished careers as soloists, chamber players and principals of major European orchestras such as the Philharmonia, London Philharmonic, Chamber Orchestra of Europe, BBC National Orchestra of Wales and Opera North. Formed in the late '90s, this innovative group has appeared in major concert venues and festivals throughout the UK and abroad and has enjoyed consistently high praise for its recordings and BBC Radio 3 broadcasts. Known for its broad and diverse programming, Mobius continues to explore its flexibility in using various instrumental combinations to perform repertoire ranging from Bach to Takemitsu and beyond. Championing music of today, Mobius is committed to commissioning new works and its recent 'Birthday Candles' project at the Wigmore Hall involving eminent composers such as George Tsontakis and Huw Watkins was received with much acclaim: - ‘a ravishing range of tone and natural warmth...'
