Project Assistant – Internship

HMDT Music is seeking a highly motivated, outstanding graduate and musician for an internship in arts education/project management.

 

Twice winner of the Royal Philharmonic Society Award for Education, we are a dynamic charity which creates a variety of inspiring music projects, increasing access to high quality musical experiences.

 

You should be highly organised, able to work well under pressure, have excellent written English, be computer literate, and have a passion for and the belief that you can change people’s lives through music.

 

This part or full time (3-5 days a week – including Saturdays during term times), six-month position would suit an individual who is seeking a career in arts education/project management and is looking to gain experience in an exciting creative environment. You will be paid £600-£1,000.00 a month to cover your travel and expenses (3-5 days/week).

 

Alumni of our successful internship programme are all now in successful active careers in the arts. You will be responsible for assisting our four person team with the smooth running of our projects, which will include our current ongoing Trench Brothers primary school’s project, and our weekly Saturday Programme.

 

Qualifications and abilities:

  • Educated to degree level
  • Knowledge of and/or experience in the arts
  • Experience playing an instrument/singing, Grade 5+
  • Good IT skills in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to use a database
  • Ability to manage large workloads and prioritise accordingly
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Knowledge of social networking sites including Facebook and Twitter
  • Ability to work hard and under own initiative
  • Excellent spoken and written English and the ability to communicate clearly Experience in a customer-facing role (plus)
